Rustic Maple Apple Crisp

Ingredients
For the apples
  • 6 medium apples, cored and diced into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup or maple sugar
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter or ghee
  • 2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
For the crumble
  • ½ cup almond flour
  • 2 Tbsp coconut flour
  • ¾ cup chopped walnuts
  • ⅓ cup maple sugar
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 1 tsp apple pie spice
  • ⅛ tsp sea salt
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Combine the apples, 1 tsp apple pie spice, vanilla, 2 tsp lemon juice, maple syrup, and melted butter in a 10-12-inch cast iron skillet or 9x13in baking pan.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the ingredients for the crumble: almond flour, coconut flour, chopped walnuts, melted butter, sugar, 1 tsp apple pie spice, and sea salt with your hands.
  4. Bake 30-35 minutes, until crumble is crispy. Let cool for 10 minutes before serving with ice cream and caramel sauce!
