Meet Dana

Hi! I’m Dana.

A Dietitian-Nutritionist and Body Image coach who believes true health and healing go so much deeper than food and exercise. I work with women dealing with gut issues, adrenal fatigue and burnout who want to heal from the root cause; using an approach that combines the principles of functional medicine, integrative health, and non-diet, neutral nutrition.

Everybody knows chronic stress is bad for your health. But did you know? Your relationship with food, body image, and perfectionist tendencies can be a cause of that chronic stress, creating an inflammatory process in the body – that can act as a roadblock to long-term health and healing?

Woah, back it up there. Let’s dig in.

You’re a helper. A healer. Maybe you’re a teacher, a therapist, a coach, or a parent – someone who takes care of others. You know how to help others, and you do it well. But you’re also really good at putting your needs last. Eventually, that can spiral into adrenal issues and burnout –

Together, we’ll put together the puzzle pieces of your nervous system, gut microbiome, perfectionist tendencies, your stress response, your relationship with food and body image to heal from chronic health conditions.

More about me…When I’m not cooking or thinking about what I want to cook next, I’m usually being active in some way. I love olympic weightlifting, yoga, hiking, skiing, I was a competitive swimmer for 16 years (that makes me feel super old), ran a half marathon in 2013 (stupid. stupid. stupid idea.)…you get the point. Oh, also I like to sing…in my car. And sometimes I like to dance, mostly in socially inappropriate settings (not just in my room) but that usually ends in me making a fool of myself. And if you haven’t figured it out already, I can quote Mean Girls like it’s my job.

Thanks for hanging out – Now let’s go eat some tasty food! Want to know more about my health journey? Check out My Story, My struggle with adrenal fatigue, or Recovery: my adrenal fatigue story, part II.
