October Favorites 2016 | Real Food with DanaThis month, in a word: INSANE. Or in two words, insanely busy. I traveled to Richmond, VA for a Peanut Harvest Farm Tour with the National Peanut Board, then to New Orleans for my grandparents 90th birthday celebration with my whole family, spent every other weekend either in school (yes, my grad school classes are on the weekends. woof.) or swim coaching.

Next, Practical Paleo, 2nd Edition!!!! No amount of exclamations points can do this one justice. If you read my review of the first edition, you know how much I freaking LOVE this book and recommend it to anyone and everyone who is interested in getting started (or even just wondering about) the paleo lifestyle. This edition is *gasp* hardcover, and Diane has updated it with a ton of new information and meal plans, and even more gorgeous recipes!!! Dying. it’s fine.

Alexis Kornblum, aka Lexi’s Clean Kitchen, came out iwth her first cookbook (fittingly called Lexi’s Clean Kitchen, duh!) and it is absolutely stunning. I can’t wait to make any and everything from this book!! Then, Simone Miller, the author of The New Yiddish Kitchen and The Zenbelly Cookbook came out with Paleo Soups & Stews, which is incredily gorgeous and sooo mouthwatering. Trying to keep the vampires away this Halloween? Try her 30 cloves of garlic soup. That should do the trick, ha!

  1. I noticed that you pictured Chosen Foods’ coconut oil spray. One of our local grocery stores started carrying it and I bought it (after checking ingredients), particularly to use to coat the (foil) wrappers for my breakfast egg muffins. Best – thing – ever! I couldn’t get a very even coating on the inside of the wrappers with regular coconut oil or ghee, and kept getting eatable food stuck to the foil But the spray got into the ridges and let me eat the whole muffin with no waste! And you just gave me 2 new cookbooks to check out on my clean eating/paleo journey!

    1. Hey Pat!

Isn’t it amazing? I used to use the Trader Joe’s version of the coconut oil spray, but this one is much cleaner, without added ingredients. Those breakfast egg muffins sound so good! And yay!! Hope you enjoy the cookbooks 🙂
