Avocado Green Goddess Dressing | Real Food with Dana

This stuff just looks so healthy, doesn’t it? I freaking love this avocado green goddess dressing. Especially because it’s my version of healthy food, which you know must NOT be a) boring or b) tasteless. Life’s too short for that sh*t, even if it’s healthy. Sure, I may help people figure out how to eat healthier food and feel better as my job, but that does not mean we’re eating plan chicken breast and spinach all the time. Noooo. If you’re getting a recipe from me, you know it’s going to be all kinds of delicious and healthy to boot. Translation: your tastebuds feel awesome, and YOU feel awesome too.

Speaking of your tastebuds dancing around. This Avocado Green Goddess Dressing? I went through a phase about two years ago where I made this multiple times a week and was putting it on literally. everything. Any kind of protein I would make, like bbq pulled pork, roasted salmon, omelets, scrambled eggs, baked chicken, roasted veggies, raw veggies, sweet potato fries, mixed in with cauliflower rice…you name it, I was putting this dressing on it. Except maybe waffles. Or a peanut butter & jelly sandwich. That would be a little weird.

It’s funny, because this dressing/dip/whatever-ya-wanna-call-it doesn’t look like much. Actually, it looks like some green mush. You can thank my best (food) friend the avocado for that. But just trust me on this one. The first time I saw this recipe? I honestly thought it would taste super weird. Like a blended up, less delicious version of my guacamole. Which even sounds weird. But when I tasted it? Wooooah. Creaminess from the avocado, a major pop of freshness from the basil, a touch of citrus from the lemon…YES. Hang on let me just try this on anything and everything because I’m going to devour the whole batch right now.

This ain’t your run-of-the-mill, store-bought green goddess dressing. Heck, it’s more of a cross between a dressing and a dip, so good luck drizzling it over a salad or something. Just dollop it right on top like you would with guacamole. Or add a little bit more liquid to make it drizzle-friendly. You do you, friend. Want to kick the flavor up a notch? Stir, do not blend, in some sun-dried tomatoes, olives, or capers! Now we’re talking taste buds dancing all over your mouth. The recipe says it makes four servings…but good luck not devouring it all yourself 🙂
