27 | Stop doing the Whole30.

June 6, 2018 by Dana 2 Comments

If you’ve done more Whole30’s than you can count, if you’re doing a full Whole30 or a reset every other month, you’re doing a whole60, or whole100, or even longer…not for the first time, but for the upteenth time, it is time to reevaluate what you’re doing with your Whole30 life. And your food freedom. Because i don’t know about you, but that doesn’t sound like true health and food freedom to me. It sounds like you’re tied to the rules of the whole30 program and bouncing between those rules and feeling totally out of control, making food decisions that you know won’t make you feel good, but you make them anyways – and basically going off the rails when you’re not doing Whole30s.

Does that sound truly healthy and sustainable to you?

SO: Why do you keep doing so many Whole30’s?

Disclaimer:  This is not to cut you down, to discourage you, or to encourage you to stop doing the Whole30 forever. This is to give you some hard-learned advice from my own experience and mistakes with the whole30 and working with many clients through this kind of stuff, plus some of the total BS i’ve seen people do with Whole30 on social media. It’s getting out of hand. For some people, it takes a really long time to come to these realizations. It’s not easy, it’s not comfortable, but it’s something you really need to dig into if you truly want a healthy relationship with food and your body – and not have to rely on a dietary reset program your whole life to feel good about yourself.

Think of it this way.

This podcast is to encourage you to critically think and dig deep about the reason behind why you’re doing the Whole30. What’s your motivation behind it? It’ll probably change for each one. And you’ll find that some motivations behind a whole30 are much healthier, mentally, emotionally, and physically, for both the long and short term, than others.

Omg this really spoke to me! First w30 in Jan;mini after vacay in March;just finishing w15. I don’t want to use as a diet, per se, as I eat mostly paleo…until I have one sugary thing then off and running. Am going to be much more cautious when this ends on Saturday. I love the rules, am an abstainer, but need middle ground.
Just saw where you have a follow up show that I’ll hear tomorrow.
    Thank you for your show!!
