It’s the most, wonderful time of the year….Christmas? No, my friend, SUPER BOWL TIME. Which is amazing because there is no better way to spend a sunday than with your friends eating amazing food (like these whole30 super bowl recipes!), drinking amazing drinks, and screaming at the top of your lungs at the tv at two football teams you don’t even really care about. Unless your team is actually in it, which is both absolutely terrifying and totally exciting at the same time. Especially if your team is the NY Giants and they beat the formerly undefeated Patriots in the super bowl twice. TWICE. Just saying. Sorry, Tom Brady lovers, I’m not one of you. It’s okay, I’ll still share my food with you if you’re nice. Deal? K, good.
So about that food. Traditionally, Super Bowl food is full of pizza, cheese sticks, fried chicken wings, soda, and the like…all sorts of things that would literally make my small intestine explode and my body start attacking itself. I’d rather spend my time enjoying the game than in the hospital or doubled over in extreme pain, so a few years ago I set about to changing our game day menu. The result? AWESOME. Did anyone complain? No way.
Honestly, a paleo-friendly super bowl menu isn’t that hard. But what about if you’re doing a whole30, where all sugar (and alcohol, EEK) is also off the table? Not to worry, I’ve got you covered there too. Here are some of my favorite paleo/real food/whole30-friendly super bowl recipes!
