Body acceptance vs. liberation, and why complimenting weight loss is damaging with Kirsten Ackerman, RD

July 22, 2020 by Dana Leave a Comment

We’re back with a return guest to talk all things body positivity and liberation, myths about intuitive eating, and how different types of restriction are holding you back from achieving true food freedom and peace! We’re also chatting about why complimenting weight loss is damaging. I’m thrilled to welcome back Kirsten Ackerman to the show, who is the dietitian and creator behind the Intuitive RD! Kirsten also had a new book come out last month, called the Intuitive Eating Plan that I know you guys are going to love – it’s a great, fresh new introduction to the intuitive eating framework, especially for those who are new to the IE world. Kirsten breaks down common myths about intuitive eating and health, understanding emotional eating, and why diet culture wrecks our relationship with food and our trust with our bodies. She provides some great reflection exercises throughout the book to dive deeper into your own relationship with food and your body, and guides you towards finding food peace through the intuitive eating framework.

Love the show? Show us some love and leave a 5-star rating and review anywhere you listen to this podcast. Thank you, and you’re the best!
